I went on a trip with my scouts group for an annual scout event called the Monopoly Run. It is based on the popular board game, Monopoly, and takes place in London. Thousands of scouts take part, competing within their own groups so hundreds of games take place on one day. Each team has a maximum of seven other competitor teams and the game is played between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm. The aim is to visit all the properties, buy as many as you can, and have the most money and assets by the end.
Our group was given the name of Basildon and we were playing against six other teams. By the end of the day we owned 14 properties, had over 1,000 pounds, and had visited almost every property there was.
We came first!
People in London may have seen several groups wearing neckerchiefs on the fifth of March. It is part of the scout uniform and was required to go on the trip.
I really loved the Monopoly run and hope to go again.
